College Football Offensive Position Group Rankings Preview
The 2018 college football season is only weeks away and it’s time to begin discussing the top players to monitor as the season slowly approaches. Each year in college football, there are a slew of athletes that stand out from the rest before the season begins and one this year is no different. One of the more interesting parts about this component of college football and ultimately the NFL Draft is how the top players change from the beginning of the season to the end.
Most of the time many of the top college football players who are projected as top draft picks usually manage to keep their draft value the same but each year there are a few who lose draft value like Raiders’ Arden Key as well as a few who rise draft boards like Browns’ QB Baker Mayfield who rose all the way to being the #1 overall pick. Needless to say, prospect rankings in the beginning of the year certainly don’t turn out to be the same at the end of the year and this year will probably be the same.
This group of potential draft prospects has a lot of high value and a lot of great upside especially the defensive line group that looks to be special anchored by Houston’s Ed Oliver and Michigan’s Rashan Gary but for now let’s focus on the offensive side of the ball. The QB group is always the most intriguing group of the draft and this year’s bunch has some good upside including Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham who is my top QB to begin the college football season. There is also a strong group of WRs as well as a few interesting RBs to watch for this season so without further ado, here are my top 3 rankings for each of the offensive position groups to start the 2018 college football season:
