How this Season can be a Saving Grace for Giants' and Chargers' Futures

The New York Giants are 0-5. The Los Angeles Chargers are 1-4. Two teams destined to make the playoffs this year yet are rudderless through the first 5 weeks of the season and it only seems to be continuing in that direction moving forward. Last year the Giants were one of the best teams in the league and entering this year were looking to make the same impact, if not more, after bring in WR Brandon Marshall and drafting TE Evan Engram but that is not the case. New York’s offense is lost right now and after the loss of WR Odell Beckham to injury along with injuries to Marshall and second year standout Sterling Shepard, QB Eli Manning may be looking down the barrel of a disastrous season that may result in a below .500 record or worse.

NFL Teams Looking For a Change at QB in 2018

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERs

The San Francisco 49ers bright in Kyle Shanahan to revamp their offense yet does not have his future QB on the roster. Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley are not solutions to their QB concerns and while rookie CJ Beathard has had a decent training camp, he is not their solution to the QB spot either. Whether it is through the draft or signing a top QB like Kirk Cousins, let is almost a guarantee San Francisco will be looking for a new QB come 2018.

NFL 2018 Draft- Quick Look at Top Ten Prospects in College

SAM DARNOLD | QB | USC

No QB in college football will have more attention and hype surrounding him than USC’s Sam Darnold. The sophomore sensation took over as a freshman and led the Trojans on a 9 game in streak including his Heisman worthy performance against Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Now as the full time starter at QB, Darnold looks to lead USC back into the national championship picture and if he can show the same flashes this season as he did back in 2016, Darnold may end up being the #1 overall pick come April.

Six Quick Rookie Observations from Training Camp

Top QBs look promising……so far

Even though its training camp and none of these QBs have started a game in the NFL, the top four projected QBs (Mitchell Trubisky, Patrick Mahomes, DeShaun Watson, DeShone Kizer) have all shown flashes of why they were drafted so highly in 2017. Besides Watson, the other three QBs are not expected to start this season but it is still good to see each of these rookies showing flashes, even if it is during training camp.

Sophomore Season Expectations- Jared Goff vs Paxton Lynch

Each year there are a hand full of NFL rookies who do are garnered as top prospects and yet seem to fail to live up to their hype in their rookie campaigns. In the 2016 season, some of the players who exceeded expectations include Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott and QB Dak Prescott, Bears RB Jordan Howard and Falcons S Keanu Neal and LB Deion Jones; but two rookies who were unable to have success rookie seasons were Rams QB Jared Goff and Broncos QB Paxton Lynch.
